Who We Work With

We love working with organisations that are passionate about their mission, ambitious in their thinking, and committed to creating meaningful impact. Much of our work is centred around helping teams harness great ideas and creativity, turning them into practical, achievable outcomes.

We’ve supported a wide range of organisations across the arts, culture, charity, and technology sectors. Combining sector knowledge with practical, hands-on support, we work alongside organisations to help them grow, adapt, and move forward with confidence.

Places we've helped

Just a little about some of the great places and teams we've worked with...

Derby Museums

We worked with Derby Museums to review and strengthen their commercial operations as part of a wider organisational transformation programme. Building on this initial review, we have continued to support the team with a more detailed analysis of commercial KPIs, budgets and performance. Together, we identified a series of short and medium-term actions designed to improve commercial outcomes, strengthen decision-making and raise the profile of key commercial metrics across the organisation.

National Waterfront Museum

We worked in partnership with Vista Este, supporting Amgueddfa Cymru to explore the future use of spaces at the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea. Through a carefully designed and facilitated programme of workshops, we brought together colleagues from across the museum and wider organisation to inform the creation of an emerging spatial masterplan. We focussed on providing insight into how their spaces could support future visitor experiences, programming, events and commercial activity, providing a clearer foundation for the next stage of planning and decision-making.”

We undertook a rapid independent assessment of a proposed commercial acquisition on behalf of MHCIS' client, collaborating with their team. Working within a compressed timeframe, we reviewed the incumbent operator's business plans and financial performance alongside the prospective operator's assumptions, forecasts and delivery plans. Our analysis provided a robust evidence base to support decision-making, identifying key discrepancies, highlighting commercial opportunities and assessing potential risks associated with the acquisition.

Museum of Gloucester

We played a key role in supporting the Museum of Gloucester's future development, working in partnership with Tribehut Ltd to deliver a Rapid Situational Analysis of the museum's current operation. This review provided a clear assessment of strengths, opportunities and priorities, helping to shape a strategic roadmap for the next phase of the museum's growth. Alongside this work, Ideas and Motion led the scoping and development of consultant briefs across seven carefully identified workstreams, enabling the museum to access targeted specialist expertise. This programme of work is providing the Museum of Gloucester with the strategic insight, commercial focus and practical delivery support needed to build on its successes and continue sharing the stories, heritage and people of Gloucester with new and existing audiences."

Ruth worked with myself and senior leadership at Titania for nearly a decade. She helped build our business from the ground up and her business acumen and dedication to improving performance were both essential and invaluable. She approaches every challenge with a practical, problem-solving mindset and is a wonderful asset to any team. I would highly recommend Ruth to any organisation looking for a trusted advisor to help strengthen its business operations.ttw , - Matthe tive Ideas & Ltd.

People who like us

I engaged Ruth’s services after acquiring our podiatry clinic, to help us modernise and streamline our systems and prepare the business for growth. She integrated seamlessly with the team, supporting us with governance audits, policies and procedures, and the implementation of HR and data management systems. We are incredibly grateful for the passion and dedication Ruth showed towards our business and would recommend her to anyone looking to scale their organisation.

Patricia Cairns, Clinical Director - Worcester Podiatry.

"Throughout our transformation work, Ideas and Motion have proved invaluable sounding boards for our Enterprises business planning. Drawing on considerable experience in the cultural sector, they worked with us to strengthen our budget forecasting, leaving us with the tools to maximise our entrepreneurial capabilities and capacity, devising new and simple monitoring systems along the way."

Dr Alex Rock, Director of Commercial and Operations - Derby Museums.

"We were delighted to work with Ideas & Motion on the Museum of Gloucester Roadmap project. Kingston and Ruth were brilliant at understanding the challenges and opportunities of the organisation and were able to work dynamically and expertly, with us, to face them head on. They are highly engaged, personable, responsive, generous and practical in their approach.

Louisa Davies, Head of Culture & Leisure Services - Gloucester City Council.

"As a friend and peer, I have collaborated informally with Kingston for many years – he always offers knowledge, passion and support. It’s exciting we’re now able to collaborate on projects to support income generation for cultural organisations."
